Last April 16 at the Manila Polo Club, the Penn Alumni Interview Program and Wharton-Penn Alumni Association hosted Cel(ebration) Day, an annual tradition to welcome the new admits to the Penn Undergraduate Class of 2019 and the Wharton MBA program.
To give the incoming students and their parents a better idea of what to expect at Penn, the Students & Young Alumni Committee chaired by Patricia Feria (C’ 06) and Ainsley Tai (E '99, W '99, WG '06) kicked off cocktails with a fireside chat featuring panelists from different backgrounds.
Eric Gotuaco (W '90), Reggie Cariaso (C '90), Joanne Tong (W '08), and Evan Chen (W '12) discussed how they prepared for Penn, how they made the most of their time there, and the impact that the learning and friendships they formed had on their eventual careers in government service, nonprofits, start-ups, family businesses, and the corporate world.
The Q&A that followed had more alumni sharing ideas on what to bring and what to leave behind, tips on how to make the most of their summer before college, and more personal anecdotes about studying and living abroad.
The Alumni Association gratefully acknowledges the panelists, the alumni who supported the event, and everyone who participated in the Penn Alumni Interview Program (co-chaired by Ainsley Tai and Eric Gotuaco).
